2022 Bookmark Contest: February 1 – 28

    2022 Bookmark Contest

Calling all aspiring artists and designers! Children from kindergarten through the 12th grade are invited to celebrate books, reading, and art by participating in our 2022 Bookmark Contest. Participants will compete for a chance to see their printed bookmark designs featured at their local library and across FVRLibraries.

    Who is eligible?

Children in grades K–12 who live or attend school in Clark, Skamania, or Klickitat Counties, Yale Valley Library District, or the Woodland School District may enter. Homeschoolers may enter at the comparable grade level.

    How to enter

    1. Pick up an entry form at your library branch or bookmobile, or print one here:
    2. Create the bookmark of your dreams using crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
    3. Fill out your contact info, and return your entry to your library branch or bookmobile by Feb 28th.

    Tips and tricks for success

    • Use the provided entry form, and make sure that any important details are kept away from the edges so they don’t get cut off.
    • Use solid, vibrant colors. Light colors, sketches, and fluorescent colors don’t show up well.
    • Be creative and have fun! Please use your original creations—no cartoon characters.
    • Need a little inspiration to get started? You’re encouraged (but not required) to create an imaginary creature and its home.

There will be five grand-prize winners (one in each grade group) whose designs will be made into bookmarks. We’ll print thousands of them and give them out to readers at all of our locations. The five winners will receive their original bookmark framed and an art set for future masterpieces.

The grand-prize-winning bookmarks become property of the library district and will be displayed on the library’s website and printed for library use.

Winners will be announced March 21, 2022!
