FVRL Foundation happily accepts book donations! We ask that the items be clean and in readable condition; hardback fiction books should have their dust jackets. We are unable to accept books that smell of smoke or are dirty, water-damaged, mildewed, or in otherwise poor condition. Other items that we cannot accept include older or incomplete encyclopedia sets, cassette tapes, excessive copies of the same title, obsolete computer books, or magazines.
Donated books are offered for sale either in our small book store, at one of our large book sales, or online, and the funds generated from the sale of these books are used to help support Fort Vancouver Regional Library programs and services.
If you would like to donate books to the Foundation, you can bring them directly to our office at 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver (where Vancouver Community Library used to be). We generally accept donations from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, but ask that you please give us a call at 360-906-4700 at least one day before you come in to make sure we'll be onsite and not in meetings. When you come in the driveway from Mill Plain, you can park near the front doors along the curb (you won't get towed for a drop-off). Come up the stairs inside; our door is to your left. We'll gladly bring a cart down and load the books right from your car. If you have a donation of a very large quantity of books, please contact us to discuss if we are able to arrange a pick-up.
If you have any questions, or if you have an item that you are unsure that we can accept, please don't hesitate to contact us.
